BWF Confirms Cancellation of 2020 Thomas and Uber Cup Finals

Malaysia teams handed tricky draws In Thomas and Uber Cup Finals

Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia will face stiff competition in the Thomas & Uber Cup Finals that slated to be held from October 3 to 11 in Aarhus, Denmark.

The Malaysian men’s team has been placed in Group A with 13-time champions and No. 1 seeds Indonesia, alongside Netherlands, and England in the draw which was staged at Badminton World Federation (BWF) headquarters in Kuala Lumpur on Monday.

Only the top two teams in each group will advance to the knock-out stage, therefore, Malaysia would need to defeat England and Netherlands to confirm a place in the final eight.

Japan and China found themselves drawn in Group D and Group B respectively.

In the Uber Cup, the Malaysian women’s team has been grouped with South Korea, Indonesia, and Australia in Group B, while Japan and China’s Uber Cup teams have been drawn into Group A and Group D respectively.

There are a total of 16 teams qualified for both the Thomas & Uber Cup Finals. Below are the draw results for the 16 men and 16 women teams:

Group A: Indonesia, Netherlands, England, Malaysia
Group B: China, Taiwan, Australia, France
Group C: Denmark, India, Germany, Algeria
