Goh Liu Ying to spearhead Puchong United in Purple League

Kuala Lumpur: Goh Liu Ying who won the Rio Olympics mixed doubles silver medal together with Chan Peng Soon will represent Puchong United Badminton Club in the 2016/2017 season of the Purple League.Goh Liu Ying and Chan Peng Soon are the most successful mixed doubles pair in the history of Malaysian badminton. “It’s going to be tough, but I am looking forward to helping Puchong United Badminton Club to have a shot at the league championship.”

“This is the second time I am competing in the league. I will play my best in every match, I also urge our teammates to work and to build success together.”

As for Chan Peng Soon, he would not be playing with Goh in the Purple League, instead, he would play for the 2-time champions Muar City Badminton Club.

Purple League will kick off its 2016/2017 season at the Gem In Mall in Cyberjaya from Dec 12 to 31 and Kuala Lumpur Badminton Stadium in Cheras from Jan 2 to 8.

The league will enter knockout stages from Feb 9 to Feb 13 at the Arena of Stars in Genting Highlands.
