Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia’s top women’s doubles duo Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan continue to maintain high training standards and strong commitment despite ongoing contract negotiations with the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM), according to head coach Rosman Razak.

Speaking from the Badminton Academy of Malaysia (ABM) in Bukit Kiara, Rosman dismissed concerns that the unresolved contract issue was impacting their preparation or discipline.

“If there was a problem, I’d speak up. But right now, there’s nothing bothering me. They follow instructions, stay focused, and show real drive in training,” Rosman stated.

He emphasized that while emotional ups and downs are normal, they have not interfered with the pair’s dedication on court.

🔍 Contract Situation Under Review

The contract saga began when Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan’s agreement with BAM expired in December, and they have yet to sign a renewal, sparking speculation over their future with the national setup.

On June 30, BAM President Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz met with the pair to discuss terms. The meeting was described as positive, and BAM is working to finalize the matter before the Japan Open scheduled for July 15–20.
