Malaysia’s Sudirman Cup squad relax at beach

Gold Coast: Malaysian Sudirman team relaxed in Gold Coast, Australia ahead of their opening Sudirman Cup fixture next Tuesday with a trip to the beach.

The Malaysian team will play Germany next Tuesday and Japan next Wednesday and are hopeful of at least making to the semi-finals.

Malaysia’s singles coach Tey Seu Bock told reporters that the team are taking some time to relax ahead of the tournament.

“We just arrived here, and we haven’t had the permission to use the hall for training, that’s why took it easy at the beach in front of our hotel,” said Tey.

“The players have strong sense of togetherness, and the team spirit remain high,” added Tey.

The 2017 Sudirman Cup is the fifteenth tournament of the Sudirman Cup. And for the first time in badminton history, the prestigious tournament will be held on Australia’s stunning Gold Coast.
