Glasgow: The conventional wisdom in sport is that if you want your athletes to perform well in the tournament, you would want them to stay focused and getting enough rest. Obviously, the Malaysian coaches preferred a different approach when it comes to maximizing the chances of winning in the 20th Commonwealth Games.Hurray! Malaysia shuttlers are heading to the opening ceremony of Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014!

The coaches have registered Daren Liew in both the men’s singles event, and men’s doubles partnering Chan Peng Soon.

As for Chan Peng Soon, in addition to men’s doubles, he will play mixed doubles with Lai Pei Jing.

Goh V Shem will partner Tan Wee Kiong in men’s doubles, and will team up with Vivian Hoo in mixed doubles.

The men’s doubles specialist Tan Wee Kiong will also join Lim Yin Loo in mixed doubles event.

The only exception was Chong Wei Feng. He was slated to play in the men’s doubles event with Chan Peng Soon, but in the absence of Lee Chong Wei, coaches have decided that it was best to let him focus on the men’s singles event.
