Tokyo: Japan’s badminton rising star who was removed from the Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings after he received an indefinite suspension from Nippon Badminton Association for gambling at illegal casinos in Japan, has gradually emerged from the worst crisis in his career to set sights on the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Besides the punishment from Nippon Badminton Association, Momota also received a 30-day suspension from his employer NTT East.
According to Japanese media, Kento Momota has resumed his own training on May 27th, and will return to join the NTT East badminton club at the end of this month.
If Momota can clean up his act, considering he will be only 25-years-old in year 2020, he has nowhere to go but up in the Tokyo Olympics.
