Kento Momota makes a comeback at Japan Ranking Circuit (video for complete match)

Saitama: Former World No. 2 Japanese badminton star Kento Momota who had his suspension for illegal gambling lifted by the Nippon Badminton Association on May 15th, made his competitive comeback Saturday at the Japan Ranking Circuit tournament in Saitama.

Before Momota is eligible to rejoin the Japan national team, the former world No. 2 has to regain his standing through local tournaments within the Japan.

Momota was playing for his sponsor NTT East and was seeded 8th at the Japan Ranking Circuit tournament. He took on his former teammate Shu Wada that used to play in his company team in which Momota won the match 21-7, 21-8 in straight sets.
