Goh V Shem/Tan Wee Kiong officially split

Kuala Lumpur: As predicted by BadmintonPlanet.com last week, Rio Olympic men’s doubles silver medalists Goh V Shem/Tan Wee Kiong will no longer play doubles together after BAM’s president Datuk Seri Mohamad Norza Zakaria announced on Monday that the Coaching and Training (C&T) Committee have agreed to let the duo to break up at the lowest point in their careers.

BAM has decided to pair Goh V Shem with Teo Ee Yi while Tan Wee Kiong will partner with Ong Yew Sin.

The two new pairs are set to play at the French Open to be held from October 24 to October 29. After French Open, they will go to Germany to participate at the Bitburger Open.

In women’s doubles, although Vivian Hoo/Woon Khe Wei have failed to win the Kuala Lumpur SEA GAMES gold medal to rescue partnership and were facing the fate of being split up, not to mention Vivian Hoo have picked up an abdominal muscle tear during the SEA Games women’s team competition, they have received a good news on Monday when BAM have decided to keep their partnership for another six-months, with the condition that they must live up to expectations and deliver the results.
