Chan Peng Soon & Goh Liu Ying to resume partnership early next year

Kuala Lumpur: Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying, the Rio Olympics silver medal winning mixed doubles pair, will be reunited in January 2018 after Goh took time out to recover from her shoulder injury.

The duo will be playing at the Malaysian Masters as their first tournament together since the 2017 Malaysian Open.

“Liu Ying and I will resume our partnership in January next year. We will compete in the Malaysian Masters together,” said Chan on Wednesday.

Goh has been out of competitions due to shoulder injury since the first round defeat with Chan Peng Soon at the Malaysian Open in April this year.

Prior to the injury, the duo won a silver medal at the Rio Olympic Games in August 2016 and finished second at the All-England in March in 2017.

Goh’s absence made Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) decided to pair Chan up with Cheah Yee See. Chan’s partnership with Cheah would end after the Korean Masters that will be held from November 28 to December 03, 2017.
