Beijing: It all started when the Rio Olympic men’s singles gold medalist Chen Long proposed to his long-time girlfriend and former women’s singles World No. 1 Wang Shixian last Monday in front of family and friends.
Chen made the proposal memorable by popping the question in front of a room full of friends at a restaurant, and, of course, she said, ‘Yes’.

Less than 24 hours after Chen’s proposal, both were officially getting married by registering their marriage in a Registry Office in Xiamen, China on Nov 28, 2017.

Chen Long and Wang Shixian met each other when they were still in the China junior squad in 2006. They fell in love in 2007, but had kept their love underground until 2013 when they were seen holding hands in a popular attraction in China.
