Beijing: Chinese badminton legend Zhao Yunlei who won two Olympic gold (one women’s doubles, one mixed doubles), five World Championships (three mixed doubles, two women’s doubles), has reportedly tied the knot with Hong Wei, who was also former men’s doubles player for the Chinese national team.
Zhao Yunlei shocked the badminton world when she posted pictures of her and Hong Wei holding marriage certificate issued by the marriage registration office in Xiamen at her social media page on Friday.
Before getting married, Zhao Yunlei and Hong Wei had kept their love affair completely off the radar from fans and folks in the badminton circle. Even Hong Wei’s previous men’s doubles partner Chai Biao was not aware of the relationship between Hong and Zhao.
“Dude, why didn’t you tell me earlier, but I kind of guessed that already, congratulations!” posted Chai Biao in Hong Wei’s social media page.
