WBF official happy with preparations

HYDERABAD: The World Badminton Federation secretary-general Stuart Borrie, does not expect the organisers of the World Badminton Championship to face many hassles.

He was here to review the preparations for the mega event to be held between August 10 and 16.

“Everything is on track and it should be a highly successful event,” he said.

“Since the event itself has its own significance ahead of the 2010 Commonwealth Games, the sincerity on part of the organising committee to complement the efforts of the BWF to make it a grand success is pretty discernible.

“The success of India Open here early this year was proof of their organisational skills. And this World championship is only one, big step further to let India join the elite group of hosting an event of such magnitude,” he said.
