Lee Chong Wei celebrates Hari Raya by seeking forgiveness

Kuala Lumpur: Muslims around the world ended their Muslim fasting month, also known as Ramadan on Wednesday with spirit of forgiveness, homecoming and feast on traditional food by celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri or Eid al-Fitr.

Malaysia’s badminton legend Lee Chong Wei posted the following message on his social media pages wishing everybody a Happy Hari Raya while asking for forgiveness.

Here is an excerpt from Lee’s message in English translation:

“Chong Wei has tried his best,
Still couldn’t achieve Olympic gold,
Wish everyone a Happy Hari Raya,
Please forgive my shortcomings”

In this glorious day, Chong Wei, Mew Choo and our whole family would like to wish all my teammates, coaches, friends and fans a Happy Hari Raya…

Lee also said that after going through his cancer ordeal, he urged everyone to appreciate and be grateful for every second of every day that you get to spend with the people you love.
