Jakarta: Indonesia’s current World No. 7 Jonatan Christie who won the Australian Open last Sunday by defeating compatriot and World No. 8 Anthony Sinisuka Ginting 21-17, 13-21, 21-14 was excited about the opportunity of winning his second World Tour Super 300 event.
“That was my second Super 300 title and I am very grateful,” said Christie.
“Ginting and I have been training together since 2015, he was actually my roommate, but when we’re facing each other on court, we treat each other as opponent. Nevertheless, after the game, we will hang out and do extra training together.”
“I think trained harder than him and of course, my desire to win the Australian was also very strong. That motivated me to be more aggressive. I am very confident now and hope I can do better at the Indonesian Open,” added Christie.
“I really enjoy every match I played. More importantly, I really believe in myself, “said Jonathan.
Christie also won the New Zealand Open 2019 Super 300 in May 5th.
