New Delhi: India’s World No. 7 PV Sindhu has withdrawn from the 2020 Uber Cup Finals that will be held in Aarhus, Denmark, from October 3 to October 11, 2020.
Father of the reigning world champion indicated that she might also skip the two Super 750 tournaments that will also be held in Denmark after the Thomas and Uber Cup Finals.
“Sindhu will not be able to participate in the Thomas and Uber Cup Finals due to some personal reasons,” said PV Ramana, Sindhu’s father.
“She has some personal work, so, unfortunately, she will have to skip the event. We have informed the Badminton Association of India about her decision,” added Ramana.
When asked if the 25-year-old Sindhu will be playing in the next 750 events following the Thomas and Uber Cup Finals, her father said: “Actually that is also (in doubt) … I mean the entries have been sent for both the events, but it depends on her work if she would be able to play both or not.”
“She may have to skip one tournament in Denmark. If she can complete her personal work then she will play one.”
