Badminton – Zulfadli Satisfied With BAM Programme

KUALA LUMPUR, March 1 — World Junior champion Zulfadli Zulkifli is satisfied with the programme organised by the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) as preparation for the Axiata Cup and Thomas Cup selection.

He said, the programme involved two-session training, and that he would announce his decision tomorrow after discussion with his club, Kuala Lumpur Racket Club (KLRC).

"Today, I received the offer letter from BAM and at the moment, everything is going very well. I thank BAM for their trust in me and I will prove my capability to local badminton fans," he said.

Speaking after a discussion with BAM general manager Kenny Goh, alongside with his father, Zulkifli Sidek, Zulfadli said he had to work harder during the training and used that platform to convince BAM about his ability for the Thomas Cup later.

Zulfadli and 2003 All England champion Muhammad Hafiz Hashim, both under KLRC, have been offered to train for the Axiata Cup and Thomas Cup at the Juara Stadium in Bukit Kiara from March 5 until the end of April.

Meanwhile, Zulkifli said he had no problem with the programme and believed his son would bring success to the national squad.

"I have always advised him, whether he is chosen or not, that he should work hard in any competition or training," he said.
