KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 23 — The question of whether Datuk Lee Chong Wei will continue to be trained by his coach Tey Seu Bock is expected to be answered on Sept 8.
The Badminton Association of Malaysia’s (BAM) Coaching and Training Committee is expected to meet and make a decision as to whether Seu Bock would continue coaching Chong Wei.
BAM Honorary Secretary Ng Chin Chai said as for the time being, Seu Bock would continue training Chong Wei and that the BAM has not changed the coaching structure.
"At the moment everything remains status quo because there’s no meeting yet to make any changes… probably after the coaching and training committee meeting on Sept 8," he told Bernama.
Seu Bock was quoted in a local daily yesterday that he would not be able to say anything on his future as Chong Wei’s coach, adding that he would leave it to the BAM to make a decision.
Ng said BAM would look at the detailed report related to the performance of coaches and players at the London Olympics before any decision was made.
"We will be having a meeting early next month to compile the reports from the coaches and also team management to see where we have done right and where we have gone wrong," he said.
Ng said the BAM would prepare a detailed programme for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland and the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea.
