Lee Chong Wei’s BWF hearing may be held early Feb

Kuala Lumpur: According to Malaysian media, deputy president of Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) Datuk Mohamad Norza Zakaria said that they have requested a new date from the Badminton World Federation (BWF) for Lee Chong Wei’s hearing. It was speculated that the hearing date might be set for early February.Badminton needs Lee Chong Wei
Norza indicated BAM have collected 80%-90% of evidence needed for the hearing.

Lee’s hearing was first scheduled to be held in Amsterdam on Dec 8, 2014, but was postponed due to request from Lee’s lawyer Mike Morgan.

BAM’s general manager Kenny Goh said BAM won’t rush the hearing, because they rather spent more time collecting evidence but be fully prepared.

“BAM and Chong Wei’s lawyer Mike Morgan all hoped to end this case as soon as possible, but we wanted to present a strong case to BWF on behalf of Chong Wei, that’s why we needed extension of time to collect evidence,” said Kenny Goh.

Lee Chong Wei was provisionally suspended by BWF after he was tested positive for banned substance dexamethasone at World Championships in Copenhagen on Aug 30, 2014.
