Kuala Lumpur: After the resignation of four Bukit Jalil Sports School (BJSS) coaches – Zhou Kejian, Chong Kien Ling, Poh Chai Boon and Chin Tze Seong – from the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) in one week, BAM has appointed Lin Dan’s junior coach He Guoquan as the head coach of BJSS on Friday.
He will focus on creating high level training programs for the nation’s top shuttlers in the under 18 age group, while another Zhou Yang from China will be responsible for the training of Form 1 men’s singles, and men’s doubles.
David Wee who heads the working committee formed by BAM to resolve the coaching issue agreed that BAM should review the coaches’ salaries.
“Coaches such as Chong Kien Ling and Poh Chai Boon joined BJSS as sparring coaches, but their salaries remained unchanged even after they have been promoted.”
