Du Pengyu turns business owner

Nanjing: About eight months after he retired from badminton, former world No. 3 Du Pengyu has transformed from a world-class athlete to become a business owner of a badminton equipment and supplies company in Beijing, China.Du Pengyu is an incredible badminton player who has been living under Lin Dan and Chen Long's shadows throughout his career.

Even though he is no longer competing in the international stage, his life still revolves around badminton. On April 19, Du Pengyu attended the racquet stringers certification course that was organized by badminton manufacturer VICTOR.

 

As usual, the low-key Du Pengyu joined other trainees to practice on their stringing skills, they paid attention to grip tape wrapping method, how to change grommets, and worked on the 72/76/80 hole racket string pulling technique etc. The course was designed with the hoped that, after graduation, the participants will provide a more precise, professional service to badminton players.

As the former world number three, making Du undoubtedly the most famous trainees inside the room. Du’s work ethic was impeccable throughout the whole certification course, with his attention to detail and due diligence, he performed his trainings to perfection. After a one week training, Du successfully passed the theoretical and practical test and was awarded the VICTOR Stringing Institute (VSI) A-Grade Coaching Certificate.

Interestingly, Du Pengyu’s father, Du senior also received the VSI certification from VICTOR last August.
