Saina Nehwal seeded No.2 for Australian Open Super Series

Sydney: Indian shuttler and defending champion Saina Nehwal is returning to Sydney to defend her Australian Open title where she clinched last year’s women’s singles crown by defeating Spaniard Carolina Marin. Meanwhile, the unseeded world No. 11 women’s singles player P. V Sindhu has been handed a tough draw for her opening match where she has to take on former world champion Wang Yihan of China.

World No. 4 men’s singles player Kidambi Srikanth, who has been seeded fourth, will take on Danish Hans-Kristian Vittinghus in his opening match.

Men’s singles champion at last year’s Commonwealth Games, Parupalli Kashyap is going to clash with sixth seed Wang Zhengming of China in the 1st round match.

The 2010 women’s doubles Commonwealth Games champions Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa will face Dutch pair Samantha Barning and Iris Tabeling in women’s doubles opening competition.
