Mumbai: India’s Premier Badminton League (PBL) which is scheduled to be held from January 2 to January 17 next year is slated to be the largest ever badminton tournament in India that will bring some of the most noted names in the field of badminton together.
However, according to an official from the Premier Badminton League governing council, the league has agreed not to conduct matches in Chennai after the city was crippled by the heaviest rainfall in over a century that caused massive flooding, driving thousands from their homes, and paralyzing the airport in Chennai about a week ago.
It’s expected that it will take a long time for Chennai to recover from the flood’s aftermath.
Therefore, PBL has decided to conduct the semifinals in Bengaluru and Hyderabad on January 14 and 15 and the final in Delhi on January 17.

Jan 2: Mumbai Rockets vs Awadh Warriors.
Jan 3: Mumbai Rockets vs Chennai Smashers; Hyderabad Hunters vs Bengaluru Top Guns.
In Lucknow:
Jan 4: Awadh Warriors vs Delhi Acers;
Jan 5: Chennai Smashers vs Delhi Acers;
Jan 6: Awadh Warriors vs Chennai Smashers.
In Delhi:
Jan 7: Delhi Acers vs Hyderabad Hunters;
Jan 8: Delhi Acers vs Bengaluru Top Guns.
In Hyderabad:
Jan 9: Mumbai Rockets vs Hyderabad Hunters;
Jan 10: Mumbai Rockets vs Bengaluru Top Guns; Chennai Smashers vs Hyderabad Hunters;
Jan 11: Mumbai Rockets vs Delhi Acers; Awadh Warriors vs Bengaluru Top Guns.
