Hyderabad: India’s highly anticipated second season of Premier Badminton League (PBL) has been scheduled to kick off from Jan 1- Jan 14, 2017.
The first leg of the six-team competitions will be held in Hyderabad. New Delhi (capital of India) will host the semi-finals while Delhi (National Capital Territory of Delhi (NCT), is a city and a union territory of India) will host the final.
India’s Rio Games women’s singles silver medalist, P.V. Sindhu was signed by the Chennai Smashers in the PBL player auction held earlier this year, while her rival – the Olympic champion Carolina Marin was selected by Hyderabad Hunters.
Hyderabad is set to play Chennai and Bangalore will take on Delhi in the opening round- robin encounters. Hyderabad against hosts Delhi on January 12 to conclude the preliminary phase.
