Pannawit Thongnuam collapses at Malaysia Masters

Sibu: World No. 90 men’s singles player Pannawit Thongnuam of Thailand who is also the boyfriend of World No. 5 women’s singles player Ratchanok Intanon fainted on-court Thursday at the Malaysia Masters and was forced to retire from the tournament.Pannawit Thongnuam receives medical attention after collapsing on court.

Thongnuam was trailing 8-14 in the first set of the men’s singles third round when he passed out. The medical staff quickly rushed to the court to check on him for 10 minutes before Thongnuam was taken away on a stretcher to the Sibu Specialist Medical Centre.Pannawit Thongnuam was lifted on to a stretcher and was wheeled off court.

Fortunately, he was responsive when the ambulance arrived at the hospital and doctor has confirmed he was in stable condition and could leave the hospital on Friday.

The Thailand team has planned to send Thongnuam back to Thailand after he’s being discharged from the hospital on Friday.Pannawit Thongnuam survives terrifying collapse.
