Kuala Lumpur: Lee Chong Wei may have hinted his retirement after he was cleared by his doctor, physiotherapist and coach to play at the 2017 All England.
“I played my last tournament in Dubai (the BWF Superseries Finals in December last year). This will probably be my last All England, so I will give it my best,” said Lee.
“For now, I just want to get a feel for the tournament.”
The World No. 1 also revealed that he had yet to fully recover from his injury yet.
“I am not 100% recovered. I can still feel the pain during training, but I will not let that injury overshadow my focus on getting back in shape.”
“Right now, I am working on mental preparation for the tournament.”
Lee and Rio Olympic champion Chen Long have been drawn into the same half, and are more than likely to face-off against each other in the All England semi-finals.
