Goh V Shem/Tan Wee Kiong to play Hendra Setiawan/Tan Boon Heong in India Open 2nd round

New Delhi: Goh V Shem/Tan Wee Kiong who are trying to regain their World No. 1 status, made a flying start to their bid for the India Open title. Goh/Tan are set to take on the Indonesian and Malaysian duo of Hendra Setiawan/Tan Boon Heong in the second round.

The two former World No. 1 men’s doubles players – Hendra Setiawan/Tan Boon Heong showed they still have a lot left in the tank as they stormed into the India Open second round after a 20-minute demolition of Ketan Chahal/Tanveer Gill of India.

Malaysia’s No. 4 seeds in mixed doubles Chan Peng Soon/Goh Liu Ying also played a flawless opener, easily won their first round match against Indian players Venkat Gaurav Prasad/Juhi Dewangan 21-12, 21-12. They will face Edi Subaktiar/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja of Indonesia for a spot in the quarter-finals.
