In a highly anticipated showdown, Athens Olympic champion Taufik Hidayat got off to a flying start.
His great skills lifted him to win the first game 21-16.
Into the second, it was still a close game as the two sides exchanged leads until it was 14-14.
But Lin Dan, newly crowned in the world championship, adjusted his rhythm and took advantage of his rival´s mistakes to level the match.
To everybody´s surprise, the decider was a lopsided one as Taufik gave up early, winning only three points in the game.
