Madrid, Spain (AHN) – China left the World Badminton Championship in Madrid with four of the five titles, proving once again the country's dominance in the sport.

China's men's doubles team composed of Fu Haifeng and Cai Yun bested their English rivals, Anthony Clark and Robert Blair in the finals, 21-9 and 21-13.

In the men's singles final, it was an all-China showdown as China's number two seed Lin Dan beat China's top seed Bao Chun-Lai in three matches of 18-21, 21-17 and 21-12.

It was Lin's first world title. He had reached the final last year, before bowing to Indonesia's Taufik Hidayat.

It was the same story in the women's singles final as both Chinese battled for the crown. China's number three seed and defending champion Xie Xingfang beat China's top seed Zhang Ning, in a mere 34 minutes.

In Saturday's women's doubles final, Gao Ling and Huang Sui beat Zhang Yawen and Wei Yili 23-21 and 21-9, winning their third women's doubles gold.

The only category that escaped the Chinese onslaught was the mixed doubles which was contested between two English pairs. Nathan Robertson and Gail Emms defeated Anthony Clark and Donna Kellogg 21-15 and 21-12 to win the mixed doubles title.
