NEW DELHI: India’s Saina Nehwal shocked world No.6 Lin Zhu of China to move into the semi-finals of the China Masters Super Series badminton in Changzhou Thursday.
World No.12 Saina, seeded seventh, won 21-16, 23-21 and 21-18 against the third seed Chinese. In the semis, Saina, who got a bye in the first round, will face Mi Zhou of Hong Kong.
Zhou, world no.2, defeated top-ranked Chinese Lu Lan 10-21, 21-13 and 21-14.
The 18-year-old Saina won the Chinese Taipei Open September 14 but lost in the first round of Japan Super Series.
