KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 31 (Bernama) — Datuk Lee Chong Wei will be trained by national singles chief coach Rashid Sidek until his mentor coach, Datuk Misbun Sidek recover from his sickness.
Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said Rashid would help Chong Wei prepare for the Badminton Super Series starting Tuesday.
Ismail Sabri was speaking to reporters after visiting Misbun at the Tawakkal Hospital here Wednesday.
Misbun, who had been unwell since returning from the Haj pilgrimage on Dec 18, was readmitted to the hospital on Tuesday for suspected lung infection and he was put on drips.
Meanwhile, Chong Wei said he had no problem continuing the training session with Rashid.
“I will consult Misbun if I have any problem. But I should let him rest,” he said.
Ismail was accompanied by National Sports Council director-general Datuk Zolkples Embong.
