Sydney: After winning his sixth Indonesia Open title last Sunday, Malaysian badminton superstar Lee Chong Wei who is looking to continue his winning momentum at the Australian Open which starts on Tuesday, has decided to withdraw from the tournament at the last minute.

Upon their arrival, technical director of Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) Morten Frost Hansen told reporters at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) that although the Malaysia men’s team has bowed out in the Thomas Cup semi-finals, the team enjoyed a good campaign despite failing to reach the final.

Kunshan: Malaysian Uber Cup coaches and players came to the Kunshan Sports Centre to play their last group tie in Uber Cup finals with the “nothing to lose” mindset.
Perhaps they didn’t foresee the 16-year-old World Junior champion Goh Jin Wei would go on to put up arguably one of her best fight in the 2016 Uber Cup finals, when Goh almost toppled the World No. 1 women’s singles player Carolina Marin before going down to the World champion 18-21, 22-20, 16-21 in a 77 minutes encounter.
