Shenzhen: The 2024 “Lin Dan Cup” Shenzhen Badminton Open concluded last Sunday at Bao’an Stadium in Shenzhen, China, where Malaysia’s Cheam June Wei won the men’s singles title and the prize money of approximately USD $27.5K.
The organizer of the Lin Dan Cup, two-time Olympic champion Lin Dan, shared his thoughts on the event and his vision for the tournament, particularly expressing his hope for Japanese badminton star Kento Momota to participate in the remaining four Lin Dan Cup tournaments in 2024.
Lin Dan stated that the standard of the Lin Dan Cup will continue to rise, along with substantial prize money.
“We just saw a young Malaysian player (Cheam June Wei) win the men’s singles title, and the men’s singles champion of the Lin Dan Cup receives a prize of 200,000 RMB (approximately USD $27.5k).
