Paris: Wednesday was a day of surprises at the French Open. Unseeded Goh V Shem-Tan Wee Kiong of Malaysia who battled through qualifying rounds to make the main draw, sent the reigning Denmark Open champions and sixth seed Fu Haifeng-Zhang Nan of China packing 21-19 9-21 21-19 in 48 minutes. Meanwhile, men’s doubles top seed Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen managed to power past Fun Haifeng’s longtime partner Cai Yun and his new partner Lu Kai 25-23 21-17.
