Unbelievably, the world no. 1 badminton player – Lee Chong Wei, is equally impressive at grabbing the spotlight not only with his superb skills on the badminton court but also with his unique fashion style. Two years ago, it was his bright yellow sneaker that started the yellow fever among all badminton fans. Now, he’s pushing boundaries once again by embracing a color traditionally associated with femininity: Pink.
A recent release of Lee Chong Wei’s limited edition pink badminton set, which comprises specialized clothes, a racquet, and shoes, has generated a lot of buzz. However, while for others it might be just a trend, the idea is much beyond a simple fashion accessory.
Kuala Lumpur: Badminton is a rigorous and physically demanding sport. It requires staunch athleticism, tremendous conditioning and many hours spent in the weight room.
Beijing: Although not officially confirmed as of yet, world number 8 Du Pengyu’s last minute withdrawal from the World Championships, being excluded from the Chinese Asian Games squad, did not play in any tournaments after Thomas Cup Finals, and there were no reports of injuries related to him – all signs indicated that he is no longer an active member of the Chinese national badminton team.
Kuala Lumpur: World No. 1 Lee Chong Wei could face Chen Long of China in the final of World Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark, from Aug 25-31. 
The draw for the 2014 World Championships on Monday placed the top-seeded Lee Chong Wei in one half while and No. 2 Chen Long of China was drawn in the other. According to Chong Wei’s recent records over Chen Long, he has a higher chance of capturing the title for the first time for his home country.

Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia’s chief coach Rashid Sidek was excluded from the Copenhagen World Championships after falling out with president of Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) Tengku Mahaleel Tengku Ariff.
“The president called a management meeting on Wednesday, introduced Hendrawan as my replacement to the World Championships coaching staff,” said Rashid. The 1996 Atlanta Olympic bronze medalist also claimed that he had not been informed by BAM about that meeting.
