Bangkok: Men’s doubles top seeds Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan of Indonesia were pushed to the limit by No. 2 seeds from South Koreans Kim Gi-Jung/Kim Sa-Rang in the 2016 Princess Sirivannavari Thailand Masters finals on Saturday they were crowned the champions.
The Indonesian pair was forced to dig deep to beat the Koreans 12-21, 21-15, 21-12 in a 43 minutes encounter. The win was Ahsan/Setiawan’s sixth victory against both Kims in their eight career meetings.
Bangkok: World No. 13 mixed doubles pair of Chan Peng Soon/ Goh Liu Ying from Malaysia was in awesome form as they have reached the final of the Princess Sirivannavari Thailand Masters tournament in Bangkok on Friday.
Chan/Goh outclassed Bodin Issara/Savitree Amitrapai of Thailand 21-18, 21-14 in 42 minutes in the semi-finals and will face dark horses Zheng Siwei/Chen Qingchen of China next.

Lima: China won an unprecedented tenth BWF World Junior Mixed Team Championships in Lima, Peru on Sunday when they defeated Indonesia 3-0 in the final to put the finishing touches to one of the greatest achievements in world junior badminton history.

PETALING JAYA: China proved once again that they are just too strong for the rest with their continued dominance in the mixed team event at the Asian Junior Championships.
They beat South Korea 3-0 in the finals on Wednesday, making it their fifth win since the introduction of the event in 2006.
The Chinese junior shuttlers got off to a perfect start when their mixed doubles pair Huang Kaixiang-Chen Qingchen took only 24 minutes to defeat Koreans Choi Jong-woo-Kim Hyang-im 21-7, 21-12. 
They then went on to get their second point when Lin Guipu beat Seo Seung-jae 21-11, 21-16 in the boys’ singles.
China then sealed the deal through their boys’ doubles – Huang Kaixiang-Zheng Siwei beat Kim Jung-ho-Kim Jae-hwan 21-17, 21-19.

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia will have no representatives in the final of the India Open GP Gold after both their women’s and mixed pairs crashed out in the semi-finals in Lucknow.
SEA Games champions Vivian Hoo-Woon Khe Wei were shown the exit on Saturday by youngsters Yu Xiaohan-Huang Yaqiong of China, losing 18-21, 12-21.
The Malaysians, who crashed out in the first round of the Malaysian Open last week to new pair Ma Jin-Tang Yuanting of China, had a good start as they led 17-14 in the first game.
But Vivian-Khe Wei, the world No. 18, succumbed to nerves and surrendered the lead to lose 18-21. Xiaohan-Yaqiong, the world No. 67, then ramped up the pressure to lead 11-3 in the second game before comfortably sealing their place in the final after 40 minutes.
