Kuala Lumpur: Reigning World champion Chen Long of China overcame compatriot and five-time World champion Lin Dan 20-22, 21-13, 21-11 in an hour and 18 minutes to secure the Malaysia Open Superseries men’s singles title at the Putra Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Sunday.
The 31-year-old Lin Dan was defeated by Malaysia’s badminton superstar Datuk Lee Chong Wei in the Malaysia Open in 2012, and failed to capture the title again in the absence of Lee.

Denpasar:Jaya Raya Jakarta men’s team started its campaign at the Djarum Superliga 2015 in the Lila Bhuana sports hall in Denpasar, Bali, with a 5-0 rout of Hi-Qua Wima Surabaya on Monday.
With top national shuttlers in its ranks, including Tommy Sugiarto, Hendra Setiawan and Markis Kido, Jaya Raya was simply too strong for the Surabaya side, who relied primarily on the skills of young, up-and-coming players.

The year 2014 turned against Indonesia’s badminton expectations as the country’s shuttlers missed out on their shots at prestigious titles, partly because of injuries sustained by top players.
With major tournaments on the play roster, including the Thomas and Uber Cups, All England, Asian Games and World Championships, the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) was optimistic about emulating the 2013 achievement during which the country secured 11 trophies in the Super Series tournament and two world championship titles.

New Delhi: In the Group A clash between Indonesia and Thailand yesterday, Indonesia’s fans has nothing to worry about even when Tommy Sugiarto lost the first singles to Boonsak Ponsana in 21-14,13-21, 17-21 in 66 minutes. This showed how strong the Indonesia lineup was compare to the Thailand team.
