Indonesia International Challenge: Daren Liew, Soo Teck Zhi advance

East Java: Malaysian shuttler Daren Liew fought from a set down to overcome Indonesian Ivanudin Rifan Fauzin 21-23, 21-4, 21-10 on Wednesday to advance to the third round of 2015 Indonesia International Challenge.

Liew and Fauzin met for the first time in their career on Wednesday, and the Indonesia player who ranked world No. 190 was able to steal a set against Liew who ranked world No. 86. Fortunately, Daren Liew managed to play some superb badminton to fend off a fine effort from his young Indonesia opponent in 50 minutes. Liew will take on Thai player Pannawit Thongnuam who also encountered a tough fight in the men’s singles second round, where he was made to work to dispatch Kaushal Dharmamer of India 17-21, 21-10, 21-16 in 55 minutes.Now its time for Daren Liew to deliver results.
