Badminton player who failed dope test not a habitual drug user

Kuala Lumpur: Youth and Sports Minister of Malaysia Khairy Jamaluddin told reporters on Tuesday that the Malaysian shuttler who was tested positive for the banned substance dexamethasone is not a long-term drug abuser.Khairy Jamaluddin, Minister of Youth & Sports of Malaysia
“That athlete is not a drug addict, he did not inject heroin or taking ecstasy,” said Jamaluddin.

“This issue is related to a substance called dexamethasone, it is a type of pain killer for an injury,” added Jamaluddin.

Khairy revealed he met with the shuttler on Tuesday and tests of the “B” sample expected to be carried out on Nov 4 or Nov 5 at a lab in Oslo, Norway.
