Khairy: Delay in Lee Chong Wei’s hearing to ensure good preparation
Kuala Lumpur: The delay in the hearing of national badminton player Datuk Lee Chong Wei’s doping case at the Badminton World Federation (BWF) was to ensure presentation of a strong case, said Youth and Sports Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin.
He said the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) had been reminded to be ready before attending the trial with the BWF Doping Hearing Panel.

Kuala Lumpur: Last week, while trying to mediate the huge fallout between president of the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) Tengku Tan Sri Mahaleel Tengku Ariff and Rashid Sidek, Youth and Sports Minister of Malaysia Khairy Jamaluddin also wanted BAM to disburse the Coaches Incentive Scheme (SGAR) payment amounting to RM16,000 to the badminton squad coaches for assisting to take the country to the Thomas Cup finals in May.

BUKIT JALIL: Buck up, BAM!
That is the loud and clear message that Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin is sending to the Badminton Association of Malaysia leadership under Tengku Tan Sri Mahaleel Tengku Ariff.
On Thursday, Khairy voiced his dissatisfaction with the BAM management and players, questioning why a country with a wealth of talents still depended on just one player – world No. 1 men’s singles shuttler Lee Chong Wei.
Khairy believes that the current leadership under Tengku Mahaleel is not addressing the issue head-on.
