Kuala Lumpur: Last week, while trying to mediate the huge fallout between president of the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) Tengku Tan Sri Mahaleel Tengku Ariff and Rashid Sidek, Youth and Sports Minister of Malaysia Khairy Jamaluddin also wanted BAM to disburse the Coaches Incentive Scheme (SGAR) payment amounting to RM16,000 to the badminton squad coaches for assisting to take the country to the Thomas Cup finals in May.
On Tuesday, Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) deputy president Datuk Norza Zakaria has came out to reassure the coaches that they will receive the money they were promised.
“I just realized the coaches have not received the money yet. The coaches deserved the incentives and I’ll make sure they receive the payment as soon as possible,” said Norza.
“Prior to this, I was informed the coaches will receive the incentives by end of the year, which I think is inappropriate,” added Norza.
