BAM is about to officially sign a new sponsorship deal with YONEX.

BAM Set To Sign New Sponsorship Deal With YONEX

Kuala Lumpur: As first revealed by BadmintonPlanet.com in the news titled “Lee Zii Jia, Pearly Tan, Thinaah Muralitharan Receive Incentives, BAM May Have Inked New Sponsorship with YONEX“, the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) is reportedly signing a new sponsorship contract with YONEX sometime this week.

In March of 2015, BAM signed a 6-year contract with Victor worth a total of RM60 million, and BAM is expected to pick YONEX as its new sponsor.

Prior to Victor, BAM actually had a 15-year sponsorship partnership with YONEX.

As the COVID-19 pandemic has caused the most significant disruption to the worldwide sporting calendar since World War II, the new sponsorship provided a timely financial boost to BAM especially when it is actively preparing for the Tokyo Olympics.

This also means that YONEX will become the main sponsor of the Malaysia Open Super 750 tournament that will be held from May 25th to 30th. The other main sponsor of the Malaysia Open is Celcom Axiata.

Besides BAM, the China national badminton team also announced an 8-year partnership with YONEX in early March of 2021.
