Milngavie’s Imogen Bankier and badminton mixed doubles partner Robert Blair are all set to defend their French International title in Orleans this weekend.
The Scottish top seeded pair are looking to build on their recent Yonex German Open triumph and maintain their winning form in the lead up to this year’s Commonwealth Games.
The duo will start their bid against Patrick Buhl and Rikke Hansen of Denmark or Raphael Beck and Kira Kattenbeck of Germany.
Bankier and Blair are also in the medal hunt at next month’s European Championships, and the French International is one of the remaining events before the pair head for Kazan in Russia for the championships from April 23-27.
At the 2012 Europeans in Karlskrona Bankier won a bronze medal with England’s Chris Adcock as they secured qualification for the Olympic Games by beating England rivals Nathan Robertson and Jenny Wallwork on the way to the semi-finals.
