Canada top Group D and gained automatic entry to the quarter-finals after its win over Australia.

Interestingly, the tight result ultimately helped Australia progress because they were one of the two best-ranked teams outside the six group winners.

Australia will play their quarter-final against Singapore on Saturday evening.
