Beijing: 2015 has been a dismal year for Lin Dan, a.k.a the greatest men’s singles player to ever played the sport of badminton. He began his 2015 campaign reaching the semifinals of All England, he lost to Tommy Sugiarto in the quarter-finals of India Open, lost to Chen Long in Malaysia Open final, was consecutively eliminated in the first round of Australian Open Superseries and Indonesia Open Superseries Premier, and lost to Jan Jorgensen in the quarter-finals of World Championships.
In the aftermath of those defeats, much of the blame centered on his celebrity lifestyle, and his over involvement in show business.
While promoting his own brand of sunglasses in Beijing on August 20, Lin Dan revealed that with Rio 2016 fast approaching, he will start prioritizing his badminton. At the event, he also told his fans how he managed to give his skin a healthier, fuller appearance.
“I treat show business as another promotion platform for badminton. But I will cut back on those activities, to refocus and find my way back to the top of badminton,” said Lin Dan.
