Purple League: Chong Wei Feng leads Puchong United BC over Kepong BC

Cyberjaya: The tie between Puchong United BC and Kepong BC was arguably one of the most closely-contested plays in Purple League history, where all matches have resulted in a draw except for the first men’s singles match.Chong Wei Feng scores the only victory for Puchong United BC on Friday. A good start is vital in Purple League play, and former Malaysian national team player Chong Wei Feng did just that by putting on a strong performance against reigning Malaysian champion Lim Chi Wing to get his Puchong United BC team off to 2-1 start against Kepong BC on Friday.

Pan Lu, Lim Khim Wah/Low Juan Shen of Puchong United BC drew 2-2 with their opponents in women’s singles and men’s doubles respectively, before Goh Liu Ying/Yoo Yeon Seong of Puchong and Amitrapai Savitree/Potieng Trawut of Kepong were tied with 2-2 in the mixed doubles event.

Puchong’s Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk also failed to overcome Thongnuam Pannawit as the match was declared a draw because at the end of 30 minutes.

The final overall score between Puchong United BC and Kepong BC was 10-9.

Meanwhile, Petaling Jaya BC continued their unbeaten run in the 2016/2017 Purple League season by steamrollering Ampang Jaya BC 14-6.
