Genting Highlands: Playing without Chong Wei Feng, defending champions Kepong BC suffered a heartbreaking 10-11 defeat to Puchong United BC in the semi-finals of Resorts World Genting Champions Challenge on Saturday.
Kepong BC’s fortunes for winning the tie looked promising when Wei Nan defeated Malaysia’s national men’s singles shuttler, Daren Liew 11-9, 8-11, 9-11, 11-10, 11-9 to put Kepong BC ahead with 3-2.
Genting Highlands: World No. 41 Chong Wei Feng pulled off arguably the most impressive feat of his Purple League performance when he contributed final three points in the last match of the tie on Wednesday.
Kuala Lumpur: Chong Wei Feng brought the audience to life on Thursday when he produced some fireworks to fight back from two sets down before eventually winning in five sets against Thomi Azizan Mahbub of Bangsar Hawks BC.
