Cyber Jaya: Olympic silver medalist Goh Liu Ying and former World No. 1 men’s doubles player Yoo Yeon Seong of Puchong United Badminton Club (PUBC), paired for the first time in the Purple League, overpowered Afiat Yuris Wirawan/Yap Cheng Wen 11-5, 11-8, 9-11, 11-3 of Serdang BC to give Puchong United BC an unassailable 10-5 lead in the best-of-5 event on Tuesday. Puchong United BC eventually registered their first win of the season with 12-7.

Genting: Petaling Jaya BC defeated Petaling BC on Thursday night’s Resorts World Genting Champions Challenge to set up a clash with Cheras BC for that 5th and 6th spot on Friday.
Genting: Prior to the tie on Tuesday, no one would have believed that the No. 7 team in Malaysia Purple League, Ampang Jaya BC could defeat the No. 4 team Cheras BC in dramatic fashion by winning only 2 out of 5 matches of the tie. This was due to the unique scoring format used by Malaysia Purple League made the matches more exciting and competitive throughout the tie where the winner of each tie was determined by the total number sets/games won, not the number of matches won.
