Kota Kinabalu: Former Malaysian men’s singles player Goh Soon Huat who has decided to try his luck in mixed doubles with Shevon Lai Jemie in October, showed encouraging potential at the 2016 Malaysia International Challenge when he and Shevon dismissed Yang Po-Hsuan/Wen Hao Yun of Taiwan to claim the mixed doubles title on their debut, winning 21-13, 21-17 in 25 minutes.
Balikpapan: Friday was a great day for Malaysian shuttlers at the Indonesia Masters as all of them advanced to the semi-finals.
16-year-old women’s singles shuttler needed 39 minutes to brush aside Gao Fangjie of China in the women’s singles quarter-finals, winning 21-16, 21-18. Goh who is aiming for her first ever GP title, will face No. 2 seed Nitchaon Jindapol of Thailand for a final berth.

The women’s competition saw two-time defending champion and No. 5 seed P.V Sindhu of India defeated Indonesia’s Lindaweni Fanetri 21-17 21-18 in a women’s singles match that lasted 46 minutes. The world No. 12 will next take on China’s Chen Yufei.
