Danang: On Sunday, Malaysia’s reserve shuttler Lim Chi Wing won the Vietnam International Series title through a hard-fought match over Taiwan’s Lu Chia-hung with 21-19, 11-21, 21-17 in 59 minutes. This is their second meetings in 2014, the 19 year-old Lim Chi Wing lost to Lu in the Vietnam International Challenge earlier this year.

Night training sessions to grow young Malaysian players
Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia’s double coach Tan Kim Her would like to speed up ripening process for the young shuttlers and to prepare them for the 11 x 5 new scoring system through night training routines.
Tan Kim Her is currently coaching Low Juan Shen-Nelson Heg Wei Keat, Chua Khek Wei-Chan Ren Cong, Mohd Amzzar Zainuddin-Ng Di Hua, Tai An Khang-Woon Mun Chun, Ong Yew Sin-Darren Issac, and Yew Hong Kheng-Tan Wee Gieen. Nelson Heg Wei Keat and his former partner Teo Ee Yi won the 2011 BWF World Junior Championships, while Yew Hong Kheng and Ow Yao Han (currently in the senior team) captured the 2010 World Junior Championships.

Malaysian crash out, while Lin Dan cruises into semi-finals of Asia Championships
Korea: Malaysian ended their journey at the Badminton Asia Championships on Friday when Low Juan Shen/Nelson Heg Wei Keat went down to Shi Longfei/Chen Zhuofu of China 21-18, 21-13; while Anscelly Amelia Alicia/Soong Fie Cho faltered against Indian pair Ashwini Ponnappa/Jwata Gutta 21-12, 21-12.
In the men’s singles, Lin Dan took 34 minutes to defeat Wei Nan of Hong Kong 21-10, 21-7 to cruise into the semi-finals of the men’s singles at the Badminton Asia Championships.

Two Malaysian pairs and China’s Lin Dan reach quarter-finals
Korea: Malaysia’s women’s doubles shuttlers Amelia Anscelly-Soong Fie Cho kept calm and focused to beat Hsieh Pei-chen-Cheng Wen-hsing of Taiwan 21-14, 21-14 in a 30-minute second round match to set up a last eight clash against India’s former World Championships bronze medalists Ashwini Ponnappa-Jwala Gutta of India. 
The pair saved Malaysia’s blushes on a day most of the other Malaysians fell by the wayside.

“Doubles” Delight for Malaysia
Korea: Day one of Asian Badminton Championship (ABC) started with big upsets and tough losses. Big-name players such as top seed Boonsak Ponsana (Thailand),

Wei Keat forges on with new partner Juan Shen (pic)
KUALA LUMPUR: National doubles player Nelson Heg Wei Keat is not letting the split with his partner Teo Ee Yi dampen his spirits.
The doubles pair, who were the World Junior Champions in 2012, have been split and Wei Keat is now partnering Low Juan Shen.
According to Wei Keat, nothing much has changed since the split as things have to move on.
“This is the coaches’ decision, and so I respect it. I will give my best in all the tournaments that I participate in with my new partner Juan Shen,” he said.
“The decision to split my partnership with Ee Yi has not d
emoralised me. I am looking ahead to be the World Champion in the future,” said the Penangite.
