Lin Dan won his third and a hard-fought title in men’s singles at the Asian Badminton Championships against Sho Sasaki of Japan 14-21, 21-9, 21-15 in the seesaw
final that took 66 minutes in Gimcheon. This was his back to back win after last week’s China Masters title. Lin got off to a sluggish start in the first set, Sho Sasaki took advantage of Lin Dan’s sloppy mistakes, and reeled off the first set with a 21-14 win.

Lin Dan will face Sho Sasaki in Asia Badminton Championships Final
Korea: Lin Dan is on course to a back to back title after he reached the men’s singles final at the Asia Badminton Championships (ABC) on Saturday.
Things looked so easy for Lin by beating compatriot Liu Kai 21-14, 21-13 in the semi-finals in just 27 minutes. Lin Dan has been so dominance in ABC, as he has yet to lose a set and win all his games with less than 34 minutes in Gimcheon.

Bronze for PV Sindhu and Jwala-Ashwini in Asian Badminton Championships
Korea: P.V. Sindhu and women’s doubles pair Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa of India all settled for bronze medals in the Badminton Asia Championships as they all lost the semi-finals to teir Chinese opponents on Saturday.
The 18-year-old Sindu fought hard for one hour and 18 minutes before losing to the two-time reinging All England champion 
Shixian 21-15 20-22 12-21 in the women’s singles competition. The World No.10 started the encounter on a positive note by clinching the first game 21-15. Malaysian crash out, while Lin Dan cruises into semi-finals of Asia Championships
Korea: Malaysian ended their journey at the Badminton Asia Championships on Friday when Low Juan Shen/Nelson Heg Wei Keat went down to Shi Longfei/Chen Zhuofu of China 21-18, 21-13; while Anscelly Amelia Alicia/Soong Fie Cho faltered against Indian pair Ashwini Ponnappa/Jwata Gutta 21-12, 21-12.
In the men’s singles, Lin Dan took 34 minutes to defeat Wei Nan of Hong Kong 21-10, 21-7 to cruise into the semi-finals of the men’s singles at the Badminton Asia Championships.

Sindhu, Jwala-Ashwini are in Asian Badminton Championships semis
P.V. Sindhu and the pair of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa won their quarterfinal matches respectively to reach semifinals in the women’s singles and women’s doubles events of Asian Badminton Championship on Friday.
PV Sindhu lost the first game 14-21 but came back strongly to win the next two games 21-13, 21-10 in close to an hour match against Ongbumrungpan Busanan of Thailand.

Two Malaysian pairs and China’s Lin Dan reach quarter-finals
Korea: Malaysia’s women’s doubles shuttlers Amelia Anscelly-Soong Fie Cho kept calm and focused to beat Hsieh Pei-chen-Cheng Wen-hsing of Taiwan 21-14, 21-14 in a 30-minute second round match to set up a last eight clash against India’s former World Championships bronze medalists Ashwini Ponnappa-Jwala Gutta of India. 
The pair saved Malaysia’s blushes on a day most of the other Malaysians fell by the wayside.

As easy as “ABC” for Malaysian girls
Korea: While their male counterparts were struggling, Malaysian women’s team got off to a good start at day one of Asian Badminton Championship (ABC).
Malaysia’s first women’s singles, world No. 49 Tee Jing Yi, defeated world No. 20 Yip Pui Yin of Hong Kong in the first round of the ABC in Gimcheon, South Korea on Wednesday.

Lin Dan is set to play in the Asian Badminton Championships
Beijing: Two-time Olympic gold medalist Lin Dan will take part in the Asian Badminton Championships (ABC) in Gimcheon, South Korea from April 22-27.
Lee Chong Wei will skip the tournament and Badminton Association of Malaysia is going to pay Badminton Asia Confederation (BAC), a fine of US$2,000 (RM6,500) for withdrawing Chong Wei from the men’s singles event. In addition to Lee Chong Wei, Malaysia will also withdraw doubles pairs Hoon Thien How-Tan Wee Kiong and Lim Khim Wah-Goh V Shem. Of course, Malaysia will have to pay the fine for withdrawing these pairs.
